  5. The Inventory Control system is based on a product master file containing
  6. pricing, availability, and general information about each product. Much of the
  7. information in the product master file is entered or changed through a file
  8. maintenance program. Other fields within other parts of the system. The system
  9. maintains a 24-month sales history for each product showing the number of units
  10. sold each month. The user may store up to ten alternate part numbers for each
  11. product. This allows the system to automatically assign a sale to another part
  12. number when the part number requested is not in stock.
